This is a 1962 Jaguar E Type Convertible. It was built in October of 1962. Convertibles from 1961-1964 are quite rare. This car was restored in 1983 and purchased by the current owner in 1999. The car is titled as 1964, as is common. Mileage shows as 73,460 with approximately 10,000 miles under the current owner. Recent work consists of: a new gas tank, new fuel pump (converted to external pump), carburetors, received new jet/diaphragm assemblies, cooling system received a new header tank and a few hoses, a new battery, and new front brake caliper seals. Also a new clutch master cylinder. The car has the original engine, but was fitted with a fully synchronized transmission, from a series 1 and a 1/2. The car currently runs and drives, and the engine has good compression throughout. The transmission shifts smoothly.
This car could use some additional work as is typical for cars of this age. Currently, the tachometer and most of the gauges are not working properly. We believe the generator needs some attention. It will most likely need suspension work in the future. We believe the chassis is sound but previous repairs to the underbody may need attention. Brakes may need additional work in the future. The clutch is operating properly.
The interior is in very good condition for its age, we are unsure what components may or may not be original. The top is functional and clean but shows imperfections consistent with age. The car will most likely need new tires. We are open to reasonable offers. This car is currently located in Southern Pennsylvania. Please call Mark at 410-420-1202 with any questions, thanks!
